Plot Summary: This fable is about a friendly, slow tortoise and a boastful hare. The hare challenges the tortoise to a race. Tortoise spent two weeks with his friends getting ready for the race. During the race, the hare quickly leaves the tortoise behind. He stopped for multiple breaks during the course, he even took a nap. However, thats when tortoise began to pass hare. Tortoise wins the race!
This story is important for young students to learn the importance of hard work and perseverance. It teaches students to never be boastful and to always give everything they've got.

Traditional literature stories are SUCH great resources for character development. It really helps students learn valuable life lessons in their own way, with their own vocabulary. This is really great in teaching that your own pace is the best!
